5 Tips to Manage your Wedding Day

September 20, 2017

The morning of your wedding set's the tone for the wedding day.  A little bit of planning  can go a long way to creating happy memories.  Here are 5 tips to help ensure your wedding day gets off to a wonderful and fun start.

1.  Hair and Makeup

Make sure all of the people getting hair and makeup done understand when they have to arrive.  You are paying professionals to get your girls looking their best, be sure to give them enough time to do so.  Discuss the morning schedule with them and make sure all of the players understand the schedule.  If you have a bridesmaid who is habitually late, tell her her time is an hour prior to when it really is.

2. Music

Having a good playlist helps set the mood.  Have a diverse list of easy to listen to music.  Remember you will be dancing and partying later on in the day - a more relaxing play list will help create a relaxing environment.  Search the web for wedding day play lists to help inspire you or use on of the ones you find.

3. Food

Have a nice spread set up for your girls and family.  Do not expect people to feed themselves the morning of your wedding.  If you are doing hair and makeup and everyone is getting ready together make sure you feed everyone and have a nice variety of food spread out.

4. Drinking

Celebrating with some champagne mimosa's is always fun - the pop of the cork, the champagne flutes and the bubbles help you know this is a special occasion.  Limit the drinks to 2 per person - getting hung over before the day even begins is never fun for anyone, there will be plenty of time later on for partying.

5.  Emergency kit

Having a well thought out emergency kit available for your bridal party comes in handy.  You can set aside a basket with tampons/sanitary napkins, advil/tylenol. clear nail polish, bandaids (for blistered feet), nail files, safety pins, small scissors, hairspray, needle and thread, pepto tablets, and anything else you can think of.  Having these items at the ready will make for smoother sailing.

As the bride this is your ship - you are the captain and it is important that you prepare so that you are ready for any rough seas and unforeseen storms.
