So exciting to go get pampered and have your bridal makeup trial. Here are some mistakes to avoid to help ensure you have a successful trial.
!) DO NOT GET WAXED
Makeup does not adhere well to freshly waxed skin. Skin is also extra sensitive after waxing and you do not want to try new products at that time. Do not get waxed at least 3 days prior to your trial.
2) DO NOT GET A SPRAY TAN ON YOUR FACE.
Makeup works best on your natural skin tone. If your hearts desire is to get a spray tan do not get sprayed on your face. Spray tans can adversely effect your makeup and give you an uneven appearance or prevent the makeup from lasting.
3) NOT BRINGING PICTURES TO YOUR TRIAL
There are so many makeup looks to choose from and your makeup artist can do any of a number of looks. Your idea of soft and natural could very greatly from your makeup artists. A picture is worth 1000 words.
Also, do not bring pictures of an eye only. Found on instagram and pinterest this disconnected eye causes a world of problems. Having just an eye without the idea of the coloring of the person and the rest of the makeup is a bad way to start off your makeup trial. You are going to be a bride - so bring pictures of brides whose makeup you love. Successful trials are those that bring pictures of women who have similar coloring and features to their own. Having a clear idea of what you want to look like is the best thing you can do for your makeup artist. Take time to go through bridal magazines or browse bridal websites and bring several pictures with you to your trial. This is a MUST do!
4) NOT WEARING WHITE TO THE TRIAL.
You want to get an idea of how you will look on your wedding day, so wear the color you are going to be wearing on your wedding day and if you want to take it even a step further, have whoever is accompanying you to your trial wear the color of your bridesmaids dresses if possible. This way you can see what the makeup will look like surrounded by the colors you chose.
5) NOT COMMUNICATING DURING YOUR TRIAL
It is not fair to your makeup artist if you do not provide feedback during your trial. Your makeup artist can not fix what you may not like if you don't tell her. Being honest, in a nice and respectful way, will only serve you and help guide your makeup artist to the look you will love. We want to make you happy and want your business, so we will never be upset by your voicing your opinion.
